he National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) is one of the Certifying Bodies recognized by Federal law, and incorporated in many state regulations. NCCAP is the ONLY national organization that exclusively certifies activity professionals who work with the elderly.
There are four levels of certification. Following are the requirements for Activity Assistant Certified (AAC), and Activity Director Certified (ADC).
DH Special Services Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals Second Edition - Part I and Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals Second Edition- Part II follow NCCAP curriculum guidelines and are applicable toward national certification.

Activity Director Provisionally Certified
(ADPC)
The Activity Director Provisionally Certified is one who is working toward requirements to meet NCCAP standards for the ADC certification. It is provisional for six years, and nonrenewable after that time. To maintain the provisional certification, it must be renewed every two years during the six year period. By the end of the six year period, all five components of Track four must be met to be an ADC ( or meet ADC certification standard from Track 1, 2 or 3).

The ADCP must meet three of the five standards in Track 4.
