Techniques for the Activity and Recreation Professional

Course
Requirements : Take the provided pretest, read the book "Documentation
in a Snap for Activity Programs" by Ann G. Uniak, RHIA, take
the provided post test and complete the worksheet.
You may mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once
the materials are received and a passing grade is determined,
your certificate will be mailed to you. If you are in need of
the certificate sooner,
a copy can be faxed to you and the original mailed.
This course will meet the six
hour requirement for the National Certification Council for Activity
Professional Track 5 which is
Completion of a basic course of 36-90 hours between the years
1991 and 2001
6 years (12000 hours) current activity experience within the past
ten years
30 hours of continuing education which includes 6 hours on the
topic of documentation (this course will meet this requirement
and provide an additional two hours toward certification)
Course
Content: The reading and the worksheet will guide the activity
professional through identifying the therapeutic documentation
process of assessment, care planning and writing progress notes.
Additional information includes the RAI, MDS and RAPs. The worksheet
assists the learner to apply technical information provided in
text to actual practice though a case study.
