Skills Mini Lesson

What is a "Mini Lesson"? : Mini Lessons
can be completed by an individual or can be completed as shared
learning with departmental staff. The Mini Lesson content introduces
basic concepts which are practiced by the activity/recreation
department as a team. If using the mini lesson as departmental
training, each individual completes the mini lesson independently
(reading the lesson and completing the pre and post test independently).
After all participating staff complete the mini lesson, a meeting
is called to complete the mini lesson learning activity. Suggestions
for completing the learning activity are provided with the mini
lesson.
Course
Requirements : Take the provided pretest; read the mini lesson
"Documentation Skills " by Debbie Hommel, ACC, CTRS; take the
provided post test and complete the Documentation Skills Word
Find. You may e-mail, mail or fax your completed materials to
DH Special Services. Once the materials are received and a passing
grade is determined, your certificate will be mailed to you. If
you are in need of the certificate sooner, a copy can be faxed
to you and the original mailed.
Course
Content: The reading will provide the participant with an introduction
and summary of the documentation process. The purpose, requirements
and current standards related to documentation for the activity/recreation
professional in long term care will be defined.
