as a Therapeutic Approach

Course
Requirements : Take the provided pretest, read the book "Growing
with Care: Using Greenery, Gardens and Nature with Aging and Special
Populations" by Betsy Kreidler, and take the provided post test.
You may mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once
the materials are received and a passing grade is determined,
your certificate will be mailed to you. If you are in need of
the certificate sooner, a copy can be faxed to you and the original
mailed.
Course Content: The reading will introduce the participant to
the overall benefits of indoor and outdoor gardening and nature
oriented activities when working with the elderly and special
populations. The goals of a gardening program, methods to organize
the program, specific program ideas and projects and means to
involve the interdisciplinary team in the process will be introduced
through the reading of the book.
