Quality of Life Initiative Program Inservice #0001 This in-service is designed for the interdisciplinary
worker in long term care facilities, including nursing homes,
assisted living facilities and medical day care centers.
The in-service introduces the importance of maintaining a good
quality of life, as we age, and how the interdisciplinary staff
can play a role in the process.
Practical helping skills and specific ideas are listed for the
staff to utilize in their daily contact with the resident. Staff
guidebook available which follows inservice content and offers
concrete suggestions for team involvement.
Behavior
- Whose Problem is it?
This in-service would be appropriate for the interdisciplinary
team as well as the activity department. It is an introductory
look at understanding behavior, what causes behavior and
basic strategies to address behavioral symptoms. Content of inservice
uses self-reflection to demonstrate root causes of behavior. Helping
skills focus on routines, a balanced program, accepting the elder
and consistency.
Inservice includes handout which can be distributed during the
inservice.
