Quality of Life for the Caregiver and Care Receiver

Course Requirements : Take the provided pretest, read the book "Traditions : Improving Quality of Life in Caregiving" by Janelle Sellick, and take the provided post test . You may mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once the materials are received and a passing grade is determined, your certificate will be mailed to you. If you are in need of the certificate sooner, a copy can be faxed to you and the original mailed.

Course Content: The reading will introduce the concept that quality of life for the care giver is as important as quality of life for the care receiver. Concepts of quality of life, motivational factors in achieving quality of life and means to ensure good quality of life for the care giver as well as care giver will be reviewed. Specific methods to adapt quality of life approaches for varying physical and cognitive losses noted within the care receiver will be introduced as well.
