Theories and Techniques in Understanding Cognitive
Loss in the Elderly

Course Requirements : Take the provided pretest,
read the book "Roses Grow in a Butterfly Garden" by
Lauren Smerglia Seifert, and take the provided pre and post test.
You may mail or fax your materials to DH Special Services. Once
the materials are received and a passing grade is determined,
your certificate will be mailed to you. If you are in need of
the certificate sooner,
a copy can be faxed to you and the original mailed.
Course Content: The reading of the text "Roses
Grow in a Butterfly Garden" will introduce the participant to
specific theories about cognitive loss in a very practical way.
Sensory changes, aspects of memory, and cognitive skills will
be explored through research and specific examples in practice.
The participant will gain an understanding of proven theory which
supports daily approaches and techniques.
